Offer Description

The research group on genetics and the management of diabetes and endocrine diseases at the Biobizkaia Health Research Institute is launching a selection process to identify a candidate for a research internship.
The aim of this call is to select an outstanding candidate to submit a joint application to various calls for pre-doctoral contracts (national, regional or institutional) that will enable them to undertake their doctoral thesis under a pre-doctoral contract.
This call does not constitute an immediate employment offer. It is a preliminary selection process to identify the ideal candidate with a view to jointly applying for forthcoming official calls for predoctoral funding.

Research Field: Biological sciences » Biology

Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

Degree in Biology, Biomedicine, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutrition or Pharmacy.
Master's degree in a related discipline.

Specific Requirements

Work collaboratively with other members of the laboratory to achieve the overall objectives.
Identification of genes responsible for cardiometabolic diseases (type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, cardiovascular disease) based on human genetic data.
Culturing cell lines and differentiating them into adipocytes.
Functional genomics using CRISPR and single-cell technology.
Data analysis and bioinformatics.
Preparing presentations on research progress and collaborating on the drafting of reports and scientific articles.
Preparing applications for pre-doctoral fellowship calls.

Academic record (0–50).
Knowledge of cell culture (0–10)
Knowledge of molecular biology (0–10)
Knowledge of bioinformatics (0–10)
Proof of proficiency in English and Basque (0–10).
Certificate of disability minimum 33% (0-2.5)
