Research Jobs vacancy notification announced by Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University for the 2024-2025 academic year. Positions include Project Scientist I & II, Junior Research Fellow, and Project Assistant. The project is titled "Integrated Cryospheric Observations and Associated Hazards in Changing Climate, Central Himalaya," sponsored by DST and based in the Geology Department.

Qualifications:

• Project Scientist I: M.Sc. in Geology/Applied Geology/Remote Sensing and GIS Applications/Environmental Science and Ph.D. in the relevant subject. Preference for experience in fieldwork on glaciated Himalayan terrain, Remote Sensing data analysis, and modeling.
• Project Scientist II: M.Sc. in Geology/Applied Geology/Remote Sensing and GIS Applications/Environmental Science and Ph.D. in the relevant subject. Requires three years’ experience in research and development, evidenced by publications in SCI Journals. Preference for glaciological studies and handling instruments like DGPS, GPR, Total Station, and GIS knowledge.
• Junior Research Fellow: Master’s Degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Remote Sensing and GIS Applications with minimum 60% marks or equivalent. Requires valid GATE/NET or equivalent; otherwise, per DST norms.
• Project Assistant: B.Sc. in Physics, Maths, or Geology. Essential computer knowledge; candidates with Master’s in relevant fields may apply.

The appointment is temporary and will terminate with the project. Job location: Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand.

Remuneration:

• Project Scientist I: Rs. 56,000 + 9% HRA
• Project Scientist II: Rs. 67,000 + 9% HRA
• Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 + 9% HRA
• Project Assistant: Rs. 20,000 + 9% HRA
