Research Lab Specialist Inter
The Department of Radiation Oncology's Cancer Biology Division is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Research Lab Specialist to join our team focused on breast cancer. The successful candidate will lead and support innovative projects investigating the differences in radiation sensitivity between invasive lobular and invasive ductal breast cancer histological subtypes.
Primary goal of this role is to identify the differences in radiosensitivity between breast cancer histological subtypes to guide targeted therapy, radio sensitization and future clinical trial design.
Specific expertise and record of experience in the design and execution of experiments involving cancer biology, protein biochemistry, live cell imaging and mouse models of cancer are required. The candidate is also expected to mentor junior investigators in the laboratory by assisting them in the design and evaluation of experiments and experimental results. A key required strength in utilization of state-of-the-art research methods, with an ability to identify potential problems and to implements solutions is needed. The candidate will be responsible for analysis of data, interpretation and implementation of research methodology specific to the ongoing research question at hand.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning that is directly related to the duties of this position.
- At least 4 years of related experience.
- A Doctorate degree in a recognized field of science or learning that is directly related to the duties of this position.
- 5+ years of related experience
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Position is term-limited to 1-year, with the possibility of a second.
