The Ko laboratory at Penn Dental Medicine is recruiting a highly motivated and inquisitive individual for an entry-level laboratory position. A list of published studies from the laboratory can be found in the link below:

The RESEARCH LABORATORY TECHNICIAN will be responsible for:

• Assist in carrying out experiments on various supervised research projects within the lab.
• Assist with techniques in animal husbandry, histology and molecular and cellular biology carrying out routine tasks such as lab/experiment preparation.
• Gather data from experiments, complete data entry and analyze data in collaboration with senior level researchers - with the intent of presenting research results in laboratory meetings.
• Monitors and manages inventory placing supply orders as needed.
• Other duties as assigned. Provide and maintain expertise in innovative solutions focused on the responsible stewardship of Penn Dental Medicine and its community experience.

Qualifications HS Degree required/Bachelor's Degree preferred; with 0-1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working Conditions Office, library, computer room; Requires extensive safety training; Requires protective devices; Some weekend work may be required to assist with animal husbandry Physical Effort Typically sitting at a desk or table; Occasional lifting 25 lb. Job Location - City, State Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Department / School School of Dental Medicine Pay Range $15.38 - $18.00 Hourly Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
