The Transformational Technologies Research Network (TTRN) is a flagship, Tier 4 pan-university initiative that brings together AUT researchers, industry, government, and communities to address complex challenges through interdisciplinary research and innovation. The network focuses on areas such as smart and sustainable futures, human-centred technology innovation, and creative and connected technologies, contributing to AUT’s research excellence and impact across Aotearoa New Zealand and globally.

The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

This is a 2-year fixed-term, full-time opportunity to provide support the delivery and growth of the AUT Transformational Technologies Research Network.

As the Research Network Coordinator, you will play a key role in providing operational, administrative, and research management support to ensure the smooth functioning of the network. Working closely with the Research Network Senior Manager, you will help coordinate research activities, funding applications, partnerships, and communications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating meetings, workshops, events, and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of research funding proposals
  • Assisting with post-award processes, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Managing communications, including newsletters, website content, and promotional materials
  • Tracking budgets, timelines, and funding deadlines
  • Maintaining systems, templates, and shared knowledge resources to support network operations

You will work with a wide range of stakeholders including AUT researchers, research offices, industry partners, and external funding bodies. The role contributes to Te Aronui by supporting inclusive research practices, engagement with Māori and Pacific communities, and embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in research activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in research administration, coordination, or project support within a university or research environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with research funding processes and systems (e.g., MBIE, HRC, Marsden)
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex documentation and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and research management systems
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
