The Sustainable Nutrition Initiative (SNi) is part of the Riddet Institute. Our team transforms evidence-based nutrition research into practical solutions for global sustainable nutrition. We combine expertise in food science, nutrition and mathematical modelling to create real-world impact.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role
We are looking for a Research Officer or Senior Research Officer to join the SNi team on a fixed term basis ending on Tuesday, 30 September 2028.
This position is based on the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North. You will contribute to several externally funded projects focused on developing national food system models that integrate nutrition, environmental, economic and socio-cultural data.
Mōu - About you
We seek a highly motivated researcher with:
- A PhD in one of the following areas: nutrition, food systems, modelling, agriculture, mathematics, sustainability or a related discipline
- A minimum of two years of hands-on research experience, ideally related to this position
- Proven experience in the day-to-day management of research projects within a team
- Strong skills in data analysis and working with complex datasets
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- High motivation and enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary team
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to create impactful solutions (preferred)
