Job Description:

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Research Physiotherapist – Neurogenetics to join the Department of Medicine within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences. This role supports clinical research focusing on rare neurogenetic disorders through natural history studies, deep phenotyping, and interventional trials.

You will be responsible for conducting physiotherapy assessments and clinical evaluations in accordance with established study protocols. You will also contribute to participant recruitment, data collection and management, and support the development of research documentation including ethics and funding applications.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary research environment, collaborating with clinicians, and external stakeholders. It is suited to a physiotherapist with an interest in research and a commitment to high standards of clinical and data integrity.

This is a part-time, 22.5h per week (pro-rated), fixed-term (12 months) position.

The salary range for this role is $78,601 - $90,700 based on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you | Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (Master’s preferred)
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally with exposure to neurological conditions
  • Experience or interest in clinical research
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ideally experience with RedCap
  • Motivation to contribute to meaningful research and comfort working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
