Offer Description
Research Scholarship (BI) within the scope of the project “HUMYK - Autonomous Community Composter", with operation code CENTRO2030-FEDER-01180100 (Nº 17322), co-financed by Centro 2030 Regional Program, Portugal 2030 and the European Union
The purpose of the research scholarship will be to implement and develop the following activities:
- Testing for prototype validation at a pilot scale
- Dissemination, promotion, and valorisation of results
- Project management and monitoring

Benefits
Monthly Maintenance Allowance: €1.359,64 , with payment made monthly by bank transfer. To this amount is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first tier, and a personal accident insurance contract.

The applications must include the following documents:

- B2 or C1 level certificate, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (not applicable to native speakers from Portuguese-speaking countries)
- Copy of qualification certificates;
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide proof of their foreign academic degree and diploma in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August;
- Proof of enrollment in the PhD program or a non-degree course;
- Motivation letter addressed to the President of the jury;
- Dated and signed curriculum vitae;
- Other documents that the candidate considers relevant to submit with the application.
- Identification, residence, identification document number, and tax identification number;
- Declaration under commitment of honour, in which, if enrolled in an ongoing not conferring academic degree, the applicant does not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of twelve months in that type of scholarship, followed or interpolated, in accordance with Article 6(5) of the FCT Regulation
Deadline for applications submission
It will last 10 working days, between 20/08/2026 and 02/09/2026.

Applications must be delivered exclusively in digital format, in portable document format (pdf), except for documents whose delivery is scheduled in other digital formats.

The evaluation results will be published through an alphabetical list by final grade, displayed in a visible and public place at the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra of the Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra. All candidates will be notified for the purposes of prior hearing, via email.

Selection Criteria
The criteria for evaluating applications are as follows:
- Curriculum evaluation (50%);
- Oral and written fluency in Portuguese (10%);
- Experience in laboratory work (15%);
- Teamwork experience (5%);
- Experience in preparing reports and scientific articles (5%);
- Motivation of the candidate to participate in the project (15%).
There may be an interview if it is necessary to break a tie between candidates.
The selection panel reserves the right not to select any candidate if none is deemed to have the appropriate profile for the duties to be performed.
