NOTICE OF THE OPENING OF A CALL FOR RESEARCH GRANTS
The University of Leiria e Oeste opens a call for the award of 1 Research Scientific Fellowship (BI - 191658) - Master, within the scope of ciTechCare, project "Activa Rural Transfronteirizo", reference 0594_ACTIVA_RURAL_TRANSFRONTERIZO_6_E, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal Program (POCTEP) [contact details available in the full listing], under the following conditions:
- Scientific area: Health Technologies/ Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Target audience: Students enrolled in PhD or Master's degrees, in the areas of Health Technologies and related, or Social and Behavioral Sciences, or Masters and Graduates enrolled in non-degree courses.
- Duration of the Fellowship: The Fellowship will have a maximum duration of 24 months, non-renewable, for students enrolled in doctoral, Master's or Integrated Master's study cycles, and up to a maximum of 12 months for candidates enrolled in non-degree courses, scheduled to start in 2026-09.
- Work plan: The general objective of this fellowship is to contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable models for the promotion of active and healthy ageing in a cross-border context, based on digital solutions and participatory processes.
The following are defined as specific objectives:
- Support the definition of care models adapted to rural and low-density territories;
- Identify, analyses and systematize digital technologies relevant to the promotion of health and well-being of the elderly population;
- Contribute to the development of the concept and operationalization of the "Smart Health Villages";
- Participate in the design and implementation of co-design methodologies with local stakeholders (users, caregivers, institutions);
- Support the construction of a strategic agenda for active ageing and social participation;
- Produce technical reports and documentation to support the project.
The plan has the following tasks

. Host entity and scientific supervision: The work will be developed at ciTechCare, under the scientific supervision of the professor(s) Doctor(s):

. Financial components of the Fellowship: Monthly maintenance allowance, in the amount of €1359.64, according to the table of values of FCT, I.P. To this amount is added the monthly amount referring to the Voluntary Social Security, if applicable, in accordance with the conditions defined in the Research Grant Holder Statute. The Fellowship holder will benefit from Personal Accident Insurance during the course of the Fellowship.
. Payment: The Fellowship amount will be processed monthly, by bank transfer, to the account identified by the Fellowship holder.

. Selection methods and evaluation criteria: The evaluation will be made through curriculum analysis and interview, and will focus on the merit of the candidate, where they will be considered and weighted according to the following:
AE - Adequacy of the area of study of the academic qualification (15%)
E - Experience/general knowledge (15%)
CE - Specific knowledge in the area (30%)
Interview (40%) Applying the following formula to calculate the final grade: NF (MC) = [AE*0.15+ E*0.15+ CE*0.3+ Ent*0.4]
. Note: If the candidate(s) holding a foreign qualification(s) does not present the document(s) proving, in the application phase, the recognition of the foreign degree or diploma and the conversion of the classification to the Portuguese classification scale, the jury establishes the conversion, only for the purposes of the competition, based on the rules of the legal regime applicable to the recognition of foreign degrees and diplomas or, when impossible, it applies the minimum classification of 10 points. We emphasize that academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be registered by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16 and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25. . Eligibility of candidates: Without prejudice to the provisions of the rules applicable to each type of Fellowship, the following are eligible for Fellowships:
a) National citizens or citizens of other Member States of the European Union;
(b) third-country nationals;
(c) Stateless persons;
d) Beneficiaries of political refugee status.

- Document(s) proving the ownership of the academic degree and/or diploma(s) required in the competition, preferably indicating the final average and the grades obtained per curricular unit. Candidates holding foreign qualifications must prove their academic degree and foreign diploma under the terms of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August. These documents can be waived, in the application phase, by the declaration of honor contained in the application form, which can only attest to facts that occurred on a date prior to the application, and this condition is only verified at the stage of contracting the grant;
- Document proving enrollment and enrollment in a cycle of studies or course not conferring an academic degree;
- Updated curriculum vitae of the candidate;
- Document(s) proving another evaluation parameter(s) indicated in the application notice;
- Other certifications and/or other documents deemed relevant by the candidate.

Results | Disclosure and complaint:The jury will send to the candidates, by e-mail, the provisional results of the evaluation (presented in the form of the minutes resulting from the evaluation process) up to 90 working days after the deadline for submission of applications. After this disclosure, candidates have 10 working days to comment, if they wish, in a specific form available on the Institutional page and under the terms of the administrative procedure code (CPA). The final decision will be taken within a maximum period of 60 working days after the conclusion of the prior hearing of the interested parties, from which a complaint may be filed within 15 working days, after notification, to the highest executive body of the University of Leiria e Oeste. Within the scope of the procedure for the award of the grant, if the final ranking list, duly approved, contains a number of approved candidates greater than the number of grants to be occupied, an internal recruitment reserve is always constituted, which may be used when there is a need for occupation due to withdrawal of the grantee, under the terms of the CPA, to be used during project eligibility.
