We are now looking for a Research Scientist to join our Nuclear power plant analysis team.
As a Research Scientist, your key goals are in research and development related to numerical simulation and modelling of nuclear power plants and other industrial processes. In this position, you will have an essential role in development of the Apros process simulation software — an efficient platform for modelling and simulation of industrial process systems.
Our team, Nuclear power plant analysis works on R&D related to analysing the behaviour of nuclear power plants by means of numerical simulation, to ensure their safety and efficient operation. At the centre of our operations is the Apros software, that is used for safety assessment, optimization and design of nuclear installations as well as other industrial systems. We are currently working with major renewal and enhancements to the software.

Your responsibilities as Research Scientist:
- You’ll use your deep understanding of numerical simulation of physical systems and skills in software development, to participate in development the upcoming, modern version of the Apros software
- You’ll participate in maintenance and support of the existing Apros software platform, implementing bug fixes, enhancements and new features, and writing documentation and tutorials
- You’ll participate in nuclear safety related research and customer projects, with duties including modelling and simulation, verification and validation of tools and methods, and writing scientific reports.
Who we are looking for:
- You have a Master’s degree in Engineering or Science, with extensive coverage of topics such as physics, mathematics and numerical methods, to enable successful participation in simulation code development
- You have a keen interest in programming, with strong grasp in at least one of the following languages: C++, Julia, Fortran. You also work efficiently both in Linux and Windows environments and know the basics of version control with git
- You have at least two years of experience in modelling and simulation and/or development of numerical simulation tools
