Job Summary
The position is for a research scientist who will study the role of cellular stress in regulating the degradation of mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum.
Essential Job Duties
- Design and conduct experiments to investigate how cellular stress regulates endoplasmic reticulum degradation (35%)
- Design and conduct experiments to investigate how cellular stress regulates mitochondrial degradation (20%)
- Apply molecular biology techniques to resolve how phosphorylation events regulate endoplasmic reticulum degradation (15%)
- Execute and analyze whole‑genome CRISPRi screens to find factors responsible for endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial degradation (15%)
- Prepare research reports and presentations for internal meetings, publications, and conferences (15%)
Basic Qualifications
- PhD in biological sciences
- Five years postdoctoral experience
- Detailed knowledge of molecular biology, mitochondrial biology, endoplasmic reticulum biology, and autophagy
- At least 3 years of experience with whole-genome CRISPRi screen
- At least 3 years of experience performing cell biological experiments independently, including live cell tracking, immunofluorescence, tissue culture, flow cytometry
- At least 2 years of experience with mass-spectrometry-based proteomics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience mentoring undergraduates or graduate students
- Experience presenting at international scientific meetings

Hiring Range
$59,800 - $75,000 Per Year
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
