Are you interested in bringing your expertise in computer/data science/electrical engineering to study how neural networks in the brain support learning and memory?
General Notes: Professor Attila Losonczy, director of the newly established Program for Memory Longevity (PML) at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, is recruiting a research scientist with a background in cellular and molecular neurobiology to investigate synaptic and neuronal plasticity mechanisms of learning and memory. The project is a collaboration between laboratories at UTSW and UT Austin and will necessitate regular visits to the Austin campus. The successful applicant will be embedded in the Neuroscience community spanning research groups in the US and Europe.
Education: Ph.D. in Neurobiology or closely related discipline plus two years of postdoctoral training
Description: This is a full-time postdoctoral fellow position in cellular neurobiology of learning and memory.
Required qualifications: Proficiency in standard protein, DNA, RNA techniques, transcriptomics, bioinformatics
Preferred qualifications: Fluorescence imaging, in vitro electrophysiology
