Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Senior Administrator within UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics/Aimsir Centre.
The School of Mathematics and Statistics wishes to recruit a senior administrator to join the School Office.
This is a fixed-term post funded to support the operations of the AIMSIR Centre for AI for Meteorological Services, Innovation and Research based within the UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics and directed by Professor Andrew Parnell.
The Senior Administrator will play a vital role in supporting day-to-day administrative functions of the centre, coordinating schedules, assisting with internal and external communications, and supporting the logistical delivery of a major nationwide citizen-science weather sensor network involving 560 post-primary schools across Ireland.
The role holder will report directly to the School Manager and work closely with the Centre Director and the Research Programme Manager and Logistics Lead to ensure smooth administrative operations across all research, training, and outreach activities.
The post will involve interaction with the Lead PI, academics, researchers and external stakeholders as specified in more detail below. The successful candidate will be working within a busy and dynamic office and will be required to support other School activities where relevant.
Salary Range: €48,000 - €58,000 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Eligibility criteria
Mandatory:
- 2-3 years' professional or customer services experience working in either a large organisation or a third level institution and/or a third level degree.
- Able to provide support and guidance to students, faculty and staff, and developing familiarity and competence in relation to other support services and when to engage with them.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritise tasks, handle multiple demands, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with high attention to detail and a professional manner when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good level of IT literacy across Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), video conferencing platforms, and online calendar tools.
- Good numerical skill and accuracy in handling basic financial processing and records.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while exercising initiative to resolve daily operational tasks.
- Ability to understand and anticipate customer needs, acting to provide a high-quality product and service to meet expectations of all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to make suggestions for improvements in own work area and acts early to address and resolve problems and find solutions.
