Research Specialist A/B (Neurosurgery)
Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Post-Doctoral Researchers and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.
Job Description
The department of Neurosurgery is recruiting a Research Specialist A-B to conduct research in molecular and cellular biology with a focus on brain tumors.
Research Specialist A: The individual will be involved in the development and implementation of projects linked to immunotherapy approaches to treating brain tumors, with a specific emphasis on cell culture work and animal experiments. The individual will analyze and interpret. Lab and equipment maintenance, inventory, and ordering of supplies, regulatory department communication, and general lab duties are also listed as responsibilities.
Research Specialist B: The individual will be involved in the design, development, and implementation of projects linked to immunotherapy approaches to treating brain tumors, with a specific emphasis on cell culture work and animal experiments. The individual will analyze, interpret, and present scientific results. They will provide guidance and training to new lab members in techniques related to their duties. Lab and equipment maintenance, inventory, and ordering of supplies, regulatory department communication, and general lab duties are also listed as responsibilities.
Qualifications
RS-A Bachelor's degree and 0-1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
RS-B Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
BS/BA degree in neuroscience, biology, or related field preferred. Bench and molecular biology experience preferred. The candidate must be able to work independently and have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Position is contingent upon funding.
