Job Description Summary
The primary function of the Research Specialist B will be to support in vivo oncology and immunotherapy studies involving murine models. The individual will be responsible for executing and overseeing a variety of experimental procedures including tumor and (CAR-)T cell injections, retro-orbital or terminal bleeding, and bioluminescent imaging. Additional responsibilities include drug preparation and administration, animal monitoring for survival and signs of GVHD and toxicity, as well as collecting, processing and analyzing blood and tissue samples via flow cytometry and other tests. The specialist will also oversee animal colony maintenance, train new users, manage the regulatory documentation including IACUC protocol preparation. The Research Specialist B will report to Dr. Ruella and may perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory research, troubleshoot problems, analyze data, design new research experiments along with research publications, and prepare presentations.
- Participate in lab management and help support lab set up and operations, oversee ordering, organization and maintenance of reagents, equipment, and protocols.
- Train and supervise other lab members as needed, provide scientific and technical expertise and guidance for other ongoing projects.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
