Research Specialist C
Job Description Summary
The Research Specialist C will report to Dr. Crys Conn https://www.csconnlab.com/ and focus on a prostate cancer project investigating post-transcriptional regulation. Specifically, the study aims to identify novel protein isoforms involved in cancer progression by examining non-canonical start codon usage. The primary responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, optimizing sample treatments, performing RNA-based experiments and library preparation, analyzing and validating data, and carrying out mechanistic studies to support publication. This position is contingent upon funding.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform and optimize experiments to understand the relevance of genetic and pharmaceutical changes for inducing non-canonical RNA translation
- Data analysis from sequencing and reviewing cancer databases to correlate with our findings
- Perform assays and analysis to test findings on cancer cell proliferation, survival, and tumorigensis
- Attend lab meetings, seminars, workshops, and engage in research discussions including writing, editing, and literature review for ongoing projects
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Position is contingent upon funding.
