Research specialist - Plant regeneration and development
This three-year contract position is open under the supervision of Mgr. Markéta Pernisová, Ph.D., as part of the TowArds Next GENeration Crops (TANGENC) project, which focuses on novel breeding techniques for crop improvement. The research will primarily investigate the hormonal regulation of plant in vitro regeneration and shoot development. Additionally, the researcher will participate in the development of molecular tools and protocols for genome editing, transformation, and plant regeneration.
Developing and improving plant genetic engineering resources - such as transgenics and genome editing - requires the collaborative efforts of multiple groups with complementary expertise. Our team members have extensive experience managing research projects and teams, maintaining international collaborations, and publishing in high-impact scientific journals.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the time of starting the position
- Expertise in plant molecular biology
- Experience in in vitro plant regeneration or bioinformatics is an advantage
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Proven practical laboratory experience
- Independence, accountability, and reliability
