The target hiring range for this position will be between $17.05 to $21.31 per hour. The offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Job Summary:

This position involves performing biomedical and/or social-behavioral research by administering tests and/or questionnaires, following protocols, collecting and compiling responses, and assisting in the preparation of materials for reports. All activities are conducted in strict adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and all relevant local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Specific Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Recruit study participants.
  • Review and obtain informed consent from participants.
  • Schedule study visits and conduct interviews.
  • Score test results and collect survey data.
  • Review medical records as necessary.
  • Consult with nurses and physicians to determine pretreatment and eligibility requirements.
  • Facilitate communication with key personnel and participants to maintain study flow.

Administration

  • Maintain detailed records of results, including data entry, preparation of charts and graphs.
  • Perform scientific literature searches to support research.
  • Assist in portions of grant applications and documentation related to regulatory guidelines.
  • Complete documents associated with local, state, and federal regulations.

Finance

  • May process reimbursements for travel expenses.
  • Monitor and distribute petty cash.
  • Process invoices and/or purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinate fund distribution among multiple sponsors and clinical sites.

Supervision

  • May train other research staff to interview or test participants.

Miscellaneous

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field (e.g., social or health science). Alternatively, an appropriate combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Must complete NU’s IRB CITI training before interacting with participants, with recertification required every 3 years.
