Research Teaching Specialist III
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist for the Dean's Office at the New Jersey Medical School.
The primary responsibility of the RTS III position is to conduct high-throughput next-generation sequencing for the Rutgers Genomics Center – Research Genomics Laboratory.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Perform next-generation sequencing, microarray, and PCR protocols.
- Assist with laboratory data management.
- Assist in monitoring Genomics Laboratory reagents and supplies.
- Evaluate and implement new protocols and methodologies to provide guidance to Genomics Center staff and users.
- Perform general laboratory maintenance and support.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time while performing work duties. Individual must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Work Environment: Laboratory. No significant exposures or noise levels.
