Job Title: Research Technician 1
Department: FAES | School of Environment and Natural Resources
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. Temporary role for 1 year or less.
Work as a member of larger team to assist in the performance of interdisciplinary research by collecting, tabulating, and processing research data. Specific tasks will support both social science research (e.g., processing survey data, assisting with focus groups) and agricultural and environmental science (e.g., sampling of soil, water, and plants).
Duties will include:
- Assist in the collection and processing of physical samples from agricultural settings.
- Assist in the collection and processing of social science data, including surveys and focus groups.
- Provide logistical support to the Agroecosystems Management Program to implement diverse research, teaching, and engagement programs.
Supervision: This position will report to Dr. Douglas Jackson-Smith.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or Associate Degree
- Willingness and ability to travel and work outdoors is required
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous experience in field-based research and work with farming communities is desired.
