Official Call Reference: Position (Ref. CP26/125) attached to research project CERV-2025-CITIZENS-CIV "Learning, acting & bridging communities for democratic innovation - CIVICLab" (Project No. 101252960), funded by the European Commission, published on the Electronic Notice Board of the University of Valladolid (https://sede.uva.es)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and facilitation of non-formal civic education workshops and sessions.
- Animation of deliberative processes and community participation (town halls, mini-publics, citizens' assemblies, civic festivals, CivicLAB Showcase Week).
- Logistical and operational coordination of local activities (managing spaces, participant registration, coordination with local entities and volunteers).
- Application of participatory and innovative methodologies (social education, community storytelling, participatory budgeting).
- Monitoring, recording, and evaluation of activities and activity reports.
- Articulation with the local social fabric (associations, educational centres, youth, third sector, local public administrations).
Working Conditions:
- Category: Research Technician 2 / Técnico de Investigación Nivel 2 (Research Support Staff).
- Weekly Working Hours: 10-hour workweek, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 hours (flexible schedule).
- Gross Monthly Salary: €533.30 (including prorated additional payments).
- Contract Duration: Expected start date 01/11/2026 until 31/12/2027 (or project end date).
- Legal Basis: Temporary contract for scientific and technical activities regulated under Art. 23 bis of Law 14/2011.

Skills/Qualifications
Having reached the minimum age and not having reached the retirement age established in Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, approving the consolidated text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees.
Possessing the functional capacity to perform the tasks of the position.
Not having been removed, through disciplinary proceedings, from the service of any of the Public Administrations, or from the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Autonomous Communities, nor being under absolute or special disqualification from public employment or office by judicial decision, in order to perform functions similar to those carried out in the position from which the person was removed or disqualified. In the case of being a national of another State, not being disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor having been subject to disciplinary or equivalent sanction that prevents, in his/her State, in the same terms, access to public employment.
Nationality: Spanish citizens and foreigners who comply with the provisions of article 57.4 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, approving the consolidated text of the Law on the Basic Statute of Public Employees, may participate in this call. The actual hiring of the latter shall be understood as conditional, in any case, on holding the necessary authorisations to perform the duties of the position, in accordance with Law 4/2000, of 11 January, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration.
Specific Requirements

Qualification: Holding the required degree, or certification with the same effects, in accordance with applicable regulations. In the case of qualifications obtained in countries outside the scope of the EHEA:
For degrees other than doctorate, documentation must be attached accrediting their homologation or equivalence or enrolment in an official master's or doctoral programme at UVa. Otherwise, verification of the level of education equivalent to that of official Spanish degrees will be carried out through the procedure established for this purpose in the Resolution of 27 April 2017, of the Rectorate of the University of Valladolid, ordering the publication of the Agreement of the CPCG, of 26 April 2017, approving the rules of the University of Valladolid to resolve on the verifications provided for in Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, and in Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, regarding applications for admission of students with foreign degrees to official master's and doctoral studies.
If the degree required for hiring is a doctorate, the equivalence application must be attached. The contract will be terminated if, within a maximum period of 6 months from the date of hiring, a positive equivalence resolution has not been accredited. Degrees issued in a language other than Spanish or English must be presented legally translated into one of these two languages.
The remaining requirements shall be those specified in ANNEX I of this call, in accordance with article 56.3 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October.
The requirements must be met on the deadline for submission of applications and maintained throughout the duration of the contract.

Eligibility criteria
MERITS AND ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
The Selection Committee will evaluate the following merits, properly documented (Europass), in accordance with the following scoring system:
- Academic and research training related to the purpose of the contract. Up to 35 points. - Bachelor's Degree in Social Education, Social Work, Pedagogy, Sociology, or another degree related to social intervention, community education, or citizen participation. Academic transcript must be attached. - Postgraduate training (Master's degree, specialization, or advanced courses) in social education, non-formal education, community mediation, social innovation, citizen participation, or social project management. - Complementary training in participatory methodologies, group facilitation, design of deliberative processes, education for citizenship, community storytelling, or work with diversity and inclusion.
- Research experience and participation in projects. Up to 30 points. - Experience in design, coordination, and facilitation of workshops, group sessions, or non formal education activities aimed at citizens, youth, or vulnerable groups. - Experience in animation of participatory processes, assemblies, town halls, participatory budgeting, or other citizen deliberation mechanisms. - Experience in coordination of community activities, volunteer management, activation of local social networks, or work with the third sector. - Experience in documentation, recording, and evaluation of social or educational intervention processes.
- Specific experience linked to the purpose of the project. Up to 25 points. - Participation in European projects (Erasmus+, CERV, Horizon Europe, or others) in civic education, community participation, social innovation, or non-formal education tasks. - Experience in applying democratic innovation methodologies, education for citizenship, or civic education. - Experience in working with cultural diversity, social inclusion, gender perspective, or intersectional approaches in community contexts. - Experience in organizing civic events, community festivals, citizenship weeks, or citizen participation visibility activities.
- Personal interview. Up to 10 points. Candidates obtaining the highest scores in the evaluation of merits may be called for a personal interview, assessing the suitability of their profile for the purpose of the contract, knowledge of the project's work area, and ability to perform the planned duties.
Selection process
- Once the deadline for submission of applications has ended, the Vice-Rectorate for Research will publish the provisional list of admitted and excluded applicants, indicating in the latter case the cause of exclusion, on the Electronic Notice Board of UVa, available on its Electronic Office. Both excluded applicants and those omitted, for not appearing on either the list of admitted or the list of excluded applicants, shall have a period of five working days, counted from the day following the publication of the provisional list, to remedy the defects that have caused their exclusion or omission.
- Once the remediation period has elapsed, the Vice-Rectorate for Research will publish, in the same manner indicated above, the resolution approving the definitive list of admitted and excluded applicants. The publication of these lists on the electronic notice board of UVa, available on its Electronic Office, shall serve as notification to interested parties for all purposes. Applicants who, within the time limit indicated, do not remedy the exclusion or allege against the omission, justifying their right to be included, shall be definitively excluded from the selection process. Against such exclusion, as a qualified procedural act, a contentious-administrative appeal may be filed within two months, before the Contentious-Administrative Court of Valladolid, or optionally, an appeal for reconsideration, within one month, before the Rectorate itself. Both periods shall be counted from the day following the publication of the resolution.
- Subsequently, the Research Support Service will forward the admitted applications to the Selection Committee, as well as any documentation of legal relevance for the performance of its functions, arising from the call.
Additional comments
The contract start date indicated in ANNEX I is the expected date of incorporation, however it may vary depending on the development of the hiring procedure and the priorities established in the research service.
Given the specific nature of the work, the contracted person may be required to travel to carry out fieldwork, or to attend conferences or training courses.
To carry out the final calculation of the cost of the contract charged to the project, contract or agreement giving rise to the call, any triennial bonuses that may be recognised to the selected candidate shall be taken into account and shall be charged in their entirety to the same.
