Position Summary

Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has dramatically improved the long-term survival of relapsed/refractory leukemia patients, demonstrating that we can achieve new levels of cure for aggressive and otherwise terminal cancers using this strategy. Our laboratory is specifically working to extend this technology to a wider range of cancers, utilizing screening techniques to test the efficacy of various new CARs against solid tumors (currently pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, glioblastoma, and prostate cancer). These techniques require handling many different types of tumor cell lines in culture, and many plates of cells, over the course of each experiment.

The ideal candidate will be a curious, go-getter with a passion for translational research. The candidate will get to develop skills on cutting-edge equipment to tackle interesting questions advancing cancer research and potential contribution to developing new therapies. The candidate will work closely with other members of the lab, such as grad students and senior scientists.

This position is responsible for assisting with laboratory duties in a research setting; performs routine tests with direction from the supervisor, manager or higher-level technician.
