Research Technician I - Social Science
Position Summary
Applications are invited for a full-time research assistant position at WashU in St. Louis to work with Dr. Alexandra Decker in the Learning and Development lab. The research assistant will work with the PI to start up a lab studying attention, learning and memory in children and adults (deckerlab.com). The research assistant will help to manage participant recruitment and data collection for in person and online studies, help design and implement cognitive experiments, and analyze behavioral and psychophysiological data.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Recruiting, scheduling, and running participants through various research studies that are to be conducted in the lab.
- Supervising undergraduate research assistants.
- Writing code to implement computerized experiments for the research studies conducted in the lab and online and adapting those tasks across pilot studies.
- Analyzing behavioral, brain, and neurophysiological data for various research studies to be conducted in the lab.
- Literature reviews and revising and editing manuscripts.
- Updating IRBs (e.g., adding new researchers, and maintaining research protocols and renewal requests).
- Purchasing lab equipment and other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or related field.
- Previous experience with psychological or neuroscience research.
- Previous experience collecting behavioral or neuroimaging data.
- Familiarity with statistical (e.g., R, Python).

$16.54 - $22.35 / Hourly
