Overview
Duke University’s School of Medicine seeks a Research Technician II to join Dr. Ko’s lab. This is an onsite position based at 0048B CARL Building, 213 Research Drive, Durham, NC 27710. The role involves hands-on research in molecular biology, infection assays, and mouse studies, contributing to projects investigating genetic susceptibility to infection.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform infection assays in cultured cells
- Conduct molecular biology techniques such as plasmid preparation and site-directed mutagenesis
- Analyze human genetic variants (SNPs) associated with infection susceptibility
- Carry out mouse infection experiments
- Conduct protein purification and binding assays
- Train graduate students in lab techniques and protocols
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Biology, Zoology, Psychology, or related scientific field
- Ability to perform hands-on laboratory research and work onsite at Duke University
