Position Highlights
The School of Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences seeks applications for a Research Technician II. This is a 0.75 FTE position (equivalent to 30 hours/week) which will help support the microbiology teaching labs (both in-person and remote labs). The candidate will make media, clean glassware, set up and take down experiments. The candidate will operate an autoclave and industrial dishwasher in addition to other laboratory equipment. The classes run from 8am-5pm and we need support staff there before and after the class so the candidate may be asked to work outside of regular business hours including short periods of time over the weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and coordinate laboratory experiments including equipment and supplies.
- Disassemble laboratory after experiments.
- Dispose used media, autoclave waste, and clean glassware.
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of media and reagents.
- Clean and organize lab spaces and restock supplies.
- Check, clean, make minor repairs, and calibrate small laboratory equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency.
- Three years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS/BA in a field of biology or related field or Associates degree and relevant experience.
- Experience working with BSL-2 and/or CSL2 environments.
