Position Highlights

The University of Arizona's College of Science, Psychology invites you to apply to the role of Research Technician III. This position will help run a large-scale research study on cognitive and brain aging. They will have a vital role in reviewing screening materials and scheduling participants, as well as collecting, scoring, and entering data for participants who undergo a research protocol that unfolds over several weeks. The Research Technician III will work collaboratively with a team that includes faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and staff. They will assist with supervising undergraduates who are working on the research team, and assist with managing general lab duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collecting, scoring, and managing data for a multifaceted research protocol. This requires effective computing skills, organization, and teamwork.
  • Effectively communicating with a variety of individuals with whom we may interact as part of the research study, including members of the research team, participants, and community members.
  • Engaging in general project and laboratory duties, including conducting an inventory of supplies, interacting with undergraduate students, staff, and faculty on the team, handling emails, attending lab meetings, and assisting with coordination of lab meetings and other duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Standard professional skills for effective and timely interaction with coworkers and participants.
  • Willingness to learn a standardized research protocol. Willingness to train staff in administering a standardized research protocol.
  • High attention to detail, ethical standards, and respect for participant confidentiality.
  • Standard computing skills, including efficient use of Zoom, REDCap, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Intermediate knowledge of psychology, neuroscience, and aging.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (e.g., research or office experience), or equivalent combination of education and work experience
