Position Highlights
Dr. Killgore is seeking a Research Technician III to assist with data collection and study coordination within the Social, Cognitive, and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Laboratory. The Lab is devoted to the study of emotional intelligence, PTSD, mTBI, chronic sleep restriction, stress and related conditions. The selected candidate will coordinate day-to-day logistics and operations of the SCAN lab research projects and support grant and contract process with the Department of Defense and other funding agencies.
This is a sleep deprivation study so overnight and weekend shifts may occasionally be required.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Mentor and train staff and students in treatment administration procedures, such as cognitive testing, brain stimulation, and neuroimaging, in accordance with protocols. Participate in treatment administration procedures and perform basic set up of routine research experiments and tests following lab procedures and protocols.
- Coordinate the implementation of DoD-sponsored clinical research studies, which may include overnight sleep deprivation, brain stimulation, circadian modulation, neuroimaging, and/or neurocognitive assessment.
- In conjunction with the Principal Investigator, develop, write, and implement new research protocols including design, data collection systems and institutional review board approval (IRB). Assist PI or Postdoctoral Researcher with preparation for presentations, written published articles, annual and quarterly technical progress reports and grant submissions. Train new staff and undergraduate Research Assistants on procedures for recruitment, data collection, and data processing.
- Oversee MRI data collection sessions and ensure collection of quality data during neuroimaging scans. Assist in MRI data processing and analysis. Administer and score psychological and neurocognitive tests under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or senior staff.
- Collect computerized behavioral data from research participants during study appointments. Maintain highly detailed records, organize data, prepare data for computer input, and record computer output. Develop and implement study participant recruitment strategies, including performing recruitment progress checks; implement immediate strategies to improve or remedy deficits in recruitment numbers.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment.
