Research Technician in Cell Culture and Related Assays (Fixed Term)
COY group at the Institute of Metabolic Science - MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit (IMS-MRL) (Professor Stephen O'Rahilly) are seeking a skilled Research Technician in Cell Culture to provide support to a team of researchers investigating disorders of appetite including obesity and metabolic disease.
The role will involve maintaining a variety of cell lines, including human neuronal cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Delivering high-quality cell cultures to support ongoing research projects. This role also involves laboratory housekeeping, including maintaining stocks of consumables and reagents, as well as placing orders for the group.
The successful candidate should have experience with cell culture, excellent aseptic technique and have experience in molecular biology. They should demonstrate that they are a collaborative team player. A passion for generating excellent work which is accurate, consistent, and have good eye for detail is essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician passionate about contributing to impactful biomedical research.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 October 2030 in the first instance.
