RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Pharmacology

The primary purpose of the research technician position is generation of data following standard laboratory protocols. The ideal candidate will also analyze data and be responsible for laboratory organization.

  • Conduct experiments based on the integrated physiological regulation of blood pressure in health and disease. These studies include whole animal studies assessing renal function, vascular function, neural function and blood pressure. Studies will also be performed on tissue samples and include ELISA assays, flow cytometry, protein assay, immunohistochemistry.
  • Analyze data generated from multiple sources e.g., immunoblotting, physiological studies, ELISA assay, immunohistochemistry. Analysis will involve use of multiple different software packages e.g., Graphpad Prism, Image J etc.
  • Organization and management of laboratory - including managing lab safety, record keeping, ordering of supplies and reagents to conduct work.

Required Skills: Bachelor's degree
