Research Technician - SHINDO Lab
The Shindo lab opened in August 2024 and studies the mechanisms of intracellular transport and organization in development and disease. The lab is currently funded by an NIH NIGMS R35 grant, which provides stable funding for this position for multiple years.
The successful candidate will use Drosophila melanogaster as a model system to lead an independent research project while also supporting ongoing projects in the lab. This position is particularly suitable for individuals seeking to gain strong research experience under the direct mentorship of the PI before applying to PhD programs. The lab is equipped with a dedicated fly room, a spinning disk confocal microscope, and a laser scanning confocal/STED microscope co-managed by the UTD Imaging Core Facility.
