Responsibilities
Project Support - Data Analysis and Documentation (70%)
- QTL analysis of microbiome and disease resistance data for tetraploid potato populations from collaborators
- Assist in planting, data collection, pollination, care, and harvest of potatoes in the greenhouse and field
- Assist graduate students with data collection for thesis research
- Assist in spring planting preparation including cutting and packaging seed, and verification
- Assist in potato grading, frying, and photographing
- BA/BS plus at least two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience equal to six years
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license by start date
- Experience with bioinformatic and/or quantitative genetic data analysis
- MS in plant sciences
- Experience working in non-model or polyploid systems
- Experience responding to journal requests for revision
- Experience with agricultural research including small plot experimentation
- Published (or submitted for publication) computational genetics research
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $26.50 - $29.30 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 100% Appointment, temporary 5 month position
Position Type: Civil-Service
