About the Position
The Center for Molecular Imaging Antwerp (MICA) is seeking a Principal Research Fellow with expertise in preclinical radioligand development for neurosciences. The research focus is on the implementation of radioligands as biomarkers for neurological diseases, with potential clinical translatability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on radioligand implementation for neuroscience biomarkers.
- Supervise lab technicians performing cyclotron-based production of validated tracers.
- Implement novel tracers based on provided precursors and optimize robustness, yield, and purity.
- Collaborate closely with preclinical and clinical imaging teams.
- Contribute to scientific publications, reports, and presentations at internal and international meetings.
- Ensure regular internal reporting and communication with the Radiopharmacy Leadership Team.
Profile / Requirements
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in radiochemistry, radiopharmacy, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with tracer implementation, optimization, validation, and translation.
- Entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and independent, taking responsibility for research outcomes.
- Solution-oriented, constructive, and collaborative mindset in team meetings.
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills in English.
- Research qualities aligned with faculty and university research policies.
- Commitment to quality, integrity, creativity, and cooperation.
