Offer Description
Recruitment of a researcher to carry out a doctoral thesis focused on the development of new sustainable methodologies for the addition of polar organometallic reagents (RLi and RMgX) to thiocarbonyl compounds (thioketones, thioamides and thioesters) in eutectic mixtures under air and moisture. The research will explore the use of these unconventional reaction media to enable highly reactive organometallic reagents to operate under environmentally friendly and experimentally simple conditions, avoiding the need for strictly inert atmospheres and dry organic solvents. The project aims to develop efficient, robust and sustainable synthetic methodologies for the functionalisation of thiocarbonyl compounds.

Skills/Qualifications
- Proven work experience in the development and optimisation of reactions involving polar organometallic reagents (RLi and RMgX).
- Proven work experience in the synthesis and handling of air- and moisture-sensitive organometallic reagents and compounds using Schlenk techniques, vacuum lines and glovebox.
- Experience in the synthesis, isolation and characterisation of organic compounds using spectroscopic and analytical techniques, including NMR, HPLC and GC-FID.
- Experience in the use of eutectic mixtures as reaction media, particularly for the development of sustainable synthetic methodologies.

- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Master's Degree in Chemistry and Sustainable Development
