Skills/Qualifications

The successful candidate will carry out the following tasks, amongst others:

Synthesis of ionic bio-liquids for use in the separation of metal species.
Evaluation of the separation and pre-concentration capacity of lanthanide elements using the ionic liquids synthesised in different aqueous matrices.
Development of toxicity assays on aquatic organisms (Artemia franciscana and Daphnia spp.) using newly synthesised ionic liquids and commercial reagents employed in the extraction of lanthanide elements.
Data analysis and preparation of reports on the results obtained.

Additional Information

Eligibility criteria

Relevant qualification: A degree in Environmental Sciences or Marine Sciences.

Experience:

Proven experience in carrying out the tasks to be performed, as set out in section 4.

Languages: English, at B1 level or above.
