Organizational Unit Overview:
The Department of Family Medicine is one of eleven clinical departments at the Brody School of Medicine. The purpose of the department is to improve the health of the people of eastern North Carolina through leadership in Family Medicine education, research and health care services. The department provides accessible, high quality health care for its patients.
The Department of Family Medicine consists of seven divisions, as well as a central administration office. Each division has a responsibility that supports the overall mission of the department. The divisions include educational development, research, medical student education, residency, geriatrics, clinical services, and sports medicine. Clinical activities take place in the Family Medicine Center, Robert and Frances Monk Geriatric Center, Firetower Medical Office, nursing homes, Vidant Medical Center and in the community.
Job Duties:
Join a dynamic academic healthcare team supporting the Family Medicine Residency Program. We're seeking a highly organized professional to provide administrative and operational support to the residency program.
This position provides support by managing communication, records and accreditation processes, coordinating recruitment and events, overseeing scheduling and budgeting, supporting residents and faculty, and ensuring compliance with ACGME program requirements and regulatory standards.
Duties include:
- Coordinate residency program operations, communications, and records.
- Manage recruitment and interview processes (ERAS/NRMP).
- Plan events (orientation, graduation, retreats, training exams).
- Oversee resident rotation schedules, evaluations, and accreditation support (ACGME).
- Maintain resident data, MedHub system, and program documentation.
- Support budgeting, payments, and program expenditures.
- Serve as a key liaison for residents, faculty, and applicants.
- Provide oversight and guidance to residency support staff. Responsible for evaluating residency division support staff as well as approving leave requests and timecards.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
