College/Department Information: Training Future Leaders in Anesthesiology & Perioperative Patient Care. The Medical College of Georgia's Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine has established various programs and fellowships, providing comprehensive training in perioperative patient care, pain management, and critical care medicine.
Job Summary: The Residency Program Specialist plays a vital role in the daily administration and operational support of the Anesthesia residency and fellowship training programs. Working closely with the Associate Program Directors (APDs), Program Director (PD), and Residency Coordinator 2, the specialist supports compliance with ACGME accreditation standards, the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP), institutional and GME policies, and other regulatory requirements. Serves as a key liaison among program leadership, residents/fellows, faculty, the GME Office, affiliated training sites, and institutional departments.
Responsibilities: Includes supporting the Program Coordinator by organizing meetings, preparing for annual evaluations, tracking surveys, maintaining Program Letters of Agreement, assisting with policy reviews, managing in-training exams, and handling program support funds. Also involves managing resident software for schedules, evaluations, and compliance; supporting recruitment; handling onboarding and orientation; coordinating graduation events; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with two years of directly related experience, or High School Diploma/GED with five years of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits: Days; Monday - Friday. Salary Range: $17.88-$21.92 per hour. Benefits include health insurance, retirement options, vacation time, sick leave, and paid holidays.
