Education of Residential Learning Coordinator
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience of Residential Learning Coordinator
- 1-2 years of experience in Housing/Student Affairs/Counseling
as well as have experience in emergency response
- Preferred previous experience living in a college housing
environment and obtained supervisory experience (student staff
preferred). Two years of Graduate school experience will count as
one-year full time experience.
Core Competencies Residential Learning Coordinator
- Ability to independently manage a variety of projects with
frequent interruptions and shifting priorities, to organize a
continuous flow of work in a timely manner and meet mandatory
deadlines
- Excellent record keeping and organizational skills with ability
to pay strict attention to detail. This position requires
independent decision-making abilities, outstanding organizational
skills, and excellent judgment, a high level of self-motivation and
accountability
- Must exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to
contribute to the successful achievement of personal, unit and
department goals with a continuous improvement mindset
- Must have the ability to work with diverse groups of
individuals as well as be able to show care and empathy. Counseling
skills are a must for working in this environment
- Experience working with StarRez (or similar system), Maxient,
and Microsoft Office software preferred
- Must have knowledge about student development, including
experience with student conduct
- Supervisory experience in leading a team of undergraduate
students preferred
