Join our Campus Life team as a Residential Life Coordinator and help foster a safe, inclusive, and engaged on-campus living experience. You’ll lead student wellbeing initiatives, respond to conduct and support matters, and build a connected and thriving residential community. 


Annual Salary: $100,000 per annum + 11.5% superannuation 

Appointment Type: Full-time (38 hours/week), continuing 

Location: Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde The Role 

In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of programs that enhance the student residential experience at Macquarie University. You’ll support student wellbeing, build a culture of respect and inclusion, manage incidents and conduct issues, and work collaboratively across teams to promote a positive, community-focused living environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Build strong relationships with residents to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion. 

• Manage student wellbeing concerns and conduct matters with care and professionalism. 

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain a safe and secure residential environment. 

• Provide guidance to the Residential Life team and oversee delivery of events and wellbeing programs. 

• Lead the development of induction, orientation, and onboarding for new residents. 

• Evaluate student feedback and contribute to ongoing program improvement. 

• Support the Accommodation Program Manager in strategy and service development. 

• Champion student engagement, inclusion, and respectful community living.

You excel at building connections, resolving conflict, and navigating complex student matters. You’re calm under pressure, proactive in problem-solving, and passionate about student wellbeing and community development.

Essential Selection Criteria 

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: 

• Proven experience in residential life, student engagement, or diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. 

• Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with students and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. 

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to manage and support a team in a dynamic environment. 

• Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, and crisis response skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment. 

• Experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating student-focused programs and events that promote engagement, wellbeing, and community. 

• Strong organisational, administrative, and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment. 

• Financial literacy with a demonstrated understanding of budgeting principles and processes. 

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to adapt to change, solve problems creatively, and remain open to new ideas.
