Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, evenings and weekends as required.;work is performed on-site and in person.

Job Story
When faculty, students, researchers, and staff need access to information resources that support learning, teaching, research, and innovation, our Resource Acquisitions Specialist will ensure those materials are identified, acquired, licensed, and made available efficiently and cost-effectively. By coordinating acquisitions activities, managing vendor partnerships, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and budgets, this role helps provide a robust and accessible library collection that meets the evolving needs of the university community.

Job Summary
Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate the operations of a function(s), program(s), and/or department(s).
Essential Functions
Supports the programs and services provided by the department(s) by performing varied or related processes which may include creating and maintaining databases and websites, monitoring, facilitating, and enforcing compliance with established criteria, guidelines and standards, etc. May coordinate, attend, prepare materials for and/or take minutes at meetings and special events. May prepare or assist in the preparation of budgets, grant applications, proposals, status reports and/or financial statements. May identify and pursue ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative procedures used by students, faculty, visitors and staff. May order and maintain sufficient inventory of office supplies and equipment. May be assigned to lead, assist, coordinate or support special projects as needed.
Job Duties
- Enter or modify data in databases and applications
- Search databases and the internet for bibliographic data or other data in support of library systems (ex. Catalog) or applications
- Interpret and apply policies, best practices and procedures
- Attend department and unit meetings, training sessions and special events
- Maintain data on unit activities and prepare routine reports
- Identify and report on recommendations for continuous improvement of the unit’s efficiency and effectiveness
- Monitor unit supplies
- Order office supplies as necessary
- Participate in unit and departmental projects
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in general office, clerical, administrative support or related field
Required License/Certifications/Training:
None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates experience working in databases, including accurate data entry and searching
- Excellent attention to detail; ability to maintain high level of quality
- Ability to enter metadata using established standards and best practices
- Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills in English; strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn new skills, technology, and computer applications quickly
- Ability to adapt to new practice and theory
- Demonstrates experience working well independently and in teams with varied user communities
- Ability to operate office equipment (including, but not limited to, computers, photocopiers, and scanners)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
- Effective web and scholarly database searching
- Ability to interpret bibliographic data correctly
- Ability to work in a high production environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
