College/Department Information

Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home provides professional nursing care to Georgia veterans and is operated through Augusta University.

Job Summary

Under supervision, delivers restorative nursing care to residents to maintain their physical wellbeing, maximize abilities, and promote independence.

Responsibilities

Includes assisting residents with ambulation, performing range of motion exercises, motivating residents, training in daily activities, assisting with fall reduction, effective communication, maintaining professionalism, cleaning equipment, reviewing assessments, and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with one year of long-term care experience. Active Certification as a Nursing Assistant in Georgia and American Heart Association BLS with CPR certification. Experience in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and handling residents and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in geriatric care, physical or occupational therapy, and restorative nursing.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of basic anatomy and therapy methods. Skills in interpersonal communication and customer service. Abilities to maintain confidentiality and follow instructions.

Certifications/License

Active Certification as a Nursing Assistant in Georgia and BLS with CPR.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F. Pay Band: B5. Salary commensurate with qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave, and holidays for eligible employees.
