Retail Stock Supervisor

About the role

The Bodleian Libraries are home to one of the world’s most significant collections, and our retail operation brings this heritage to life through distinctive products sold in our two on-site shops, online and through wholesale. As Retail Stock Supervisor, you will play an essential role in ensuring our stock processes run efficiently and accurately.

You will oversee deliveries into the stockroom and warehouse, checking goods against documentation and ensuring stock is recorded correctly within our systems. You will make sure items are priced, labelled and allocated appropriately so that stock reaches the shop floor and customers without delay. You will also support the picking, packing and dispatch of online and wholesale orders, preparing documentation, packaging goods securely and liaising with Mail Services to coordinate collections.

This is a permanent, part-time post, working 28 hours per week. Working days are expected to be Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, including some weekend and Bank Holiday working.

About You

You will have experience in a retail, stockroom or warehouse environment and will understand the importance of accurate stock control in delivering excellent customer service. You will also demonstrate accuracy when processing deliveries, completing documentation and preparing customer orders. Strong communication skills are essential. Experience in retail stock management, an interest in heritage, or familiarity with working in a security-conscious setting would be advantageous.
