Description
The Paulus Advanced Retinal Imaging and Laser Laboratory is seeking a motivated postdoctoral research fellow to perform eye research of retinal imaging technologies and treatments for eye disease.
Our Advanced Retinal Imaging and Laser Laboratory is a dynamic, diverse, multidisciplinary group dedicated to improving the vision of patients suffering from eye diseases through applying biomedical engineering, biodesign, lasers, photonics, optics, AI, ultrasound, physics, nanoparticles, and biochemistry. We are developing novel multimodal retinal imaging systems, laser therapies, and long-lasting sustained therapeutics. Our team includes postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduates, medical students, residents, and fellows. As a postdoctoral research fellow, you will work as a team to perform research, design and build high resolution optical imaging and laser systems, perform animal care and handling, present results at premier international meetings, write manuscripts for publication, and ensure appropriate documentation and regulatory compliance. Our lab performs preclinical work in animal models and then seeks to rapidly translate the new technology to humans to improve the sight of patients. This position offers an opportunity to advance academic or industry career goals through rigorous research, high-level publication, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team. Professor Paulus is fully dedicated to the long-term career of each member of the lab and thus performs active mentorship to ensure that your postdoctoral research fellowship lays the foundation for your future career and goals.
