Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Director, the RN communicates and collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to provide consistent quality care for in-patients and out-patients with wound, ostomy and HBO needs/conditions. Working with a high degree of autonomy, the RN accepts responsibility for patients as a case manager to plan, implement and evaluate care for chronic wound, ostomy and hyperbaric patients. The RN works within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act and follows all department and hospital policies and procedures. He/She complies with all hospital standards and nursing clinical practice guidelines while performing job duties and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Current California Registered Nurse license.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Wound Care Experience
• Wound Care Certification
