Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is looking for passionate and highly motivated Faculty. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and actively engaging in interdisciplinary research. Faculty members will also have the opportunity to collaborate with leading AI researchers, work on cutting-edge projects, and contribute to the university's growth as a hub for AI excellence.

The Department of Robotics was established in 2023 and is in the fast-growing phase. We welcome applications to the faculty position at all levels (Assistant, Associate and Full Professor).

The Department of Robotics in MBZUAI focuses on the AI based robotics research for the future of human society. The fields of research are: foundation models for robots in various real-world environments; reinforcement learning of robot control for manipulation and mobility in unstructured dynamical environments; humanoid robotics including whole-body imitation learning, human-motion understanding, human-robot interactions using linguistic, psychological and cognitive tokens; and data-science of robots and humans including multimodal data acquisition. The real-world in the scope of application spans industrial, agricultural, household, healthcare, urban, natural, and planetary environments.

Qualifications

This position requires a PhD in Robotics or a related field in Computer Science or Engineering. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence and future vision in conducting research, and motivation for teaching and mentoring students.
