Scene Shop Technician (Work Study)
Pioneer Theatre Company is seeking a part-time Scene Shop Technician to assist with the execution of sets and props for our 2025-2026 season. Potential job tasks include carpentry, welding, painting, and rigging.
- Communicating accurate and dependable availability with Technical Director
- Ability to follow written and spoken instructions accurately and consistently
- Careful adherence to all safety guidelines
- Detail oriented, efficient, and self-motivated
- Ability to work quickly in a broad range of tasks
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
This job posting is only available to University of Utah students who have been awarded a Federal Work-Study Award for the current year. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Experience in the performing arts, carpentry, welding, or painting
- Experience with power tools
- Availability to work a minimum of 10 in-person hours per week
- No fear of height
