Scheduling and Logistics Specialist
General Summary
The Scheduling and Logistics Specialist serves an integral role on the scheduling and logistics team. Specialist collaborates with Deans and Department Chairs across the schools to coordinate the creation of semester schedules, including but not limited to timelines, draft schedules, and final schedules. Plays an important role as advocates and champions of the student-centric scheduling process across Odessa College. Reports to the Scheduling and Logistics manager. Assists with space utilization and any other project assigned by Manager. This position requires the application of critical thinking, maintaining detailed records, and using software to maintain databases.
Specific Position Duties
- Independently organize and perform complex technical data entry and management duties in the student information database (i.e. Colleague).
- Create and maintain course, section, faculty, and space inventory files for academic schedule for credit and non-credit (i.e. Continuing Education and Workforce) programs.
- Assign courses to classrooms as directed by Supervisor.
- Assists in project planning, development, implementation, and control to ensure efficiency in meeting the needs of the College.
- Enter data and proofs schedules in scheduling system.
- Assist supervisor with load and overload stipend payment process.
- Ensure the scheduling system is accurate for reporting purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Highly collaborative team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross functional team efforts across the colleges divisions.
- Willingness to learn how to use new data tools
Work Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5:30pm Friday 8am-1pm, Summer Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm, Friday-Closed
