JOB DESCRIPTION:

• participation in the grant’s research led by dr Mariia Shynkarenko;
• conducting literature searches in libraries and archives in Poland and Ukraine;
• organization of data and bibliographies;
• familiarity with the research subject of Ukrainian political thought in 19th century and first half of 20th century or having a publication record in a field related to the grant's research focus or preparing a doctoral dissertation in history or related disciplines on a topic consistent with the grant's research focus;
• a good command of Polish and Ukrainian languages, enabling fluent communication and the use of academic literature and source materials; a working knowledge of Russian at a level sufficient to read academic literature and source materials independently;
• research subject: the notion of justice in the political thought of Ukraine in 19th century.

Specific Requirements

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

• familiarity with the research subject of Ukrainian political thought in 19th century and first half of 20th century or having a publication record in a field related to the grant's research focus or preparing a doctoral dissertation in history or related disciplines on a topic consistent with the grant's research focus;
• research interest in the methodology of the history of ideas;
• knowledge of the scholarly literature on the history of Ukraine and Eastern Europe in the 19th century.

Benefits

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• this position is planned for 24 months;
• work will be done remotely during bi-weekly online team meetings and stationary meetings in Warsaw, according to the project’s schedule.

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: PLN 4 875 gross per month

Eligibility criteria

FORMAL REQUIREMENTS:

• the National Science Centre’s (NCN) scholarship may be awarded to individuals who are not PhD holders and meet any of the following terms:
  • is a student of a full-time first or second-cycle degree programme or uniform Master’s studies at a university in Poland;
  • is a participant in a doctoral programme;
  • is a doctoral candidate at a doctoral school.
• Submission of a complete set of required documents by email to: politic@isppan.waw.pl (email subject: “Recruitment: scholarship OPUS 29”). Only complete applications will be reviewed.

Required documents:

• an application addressed to the Director of the Institute of Political Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences;
• Curriculum Vitae, including a detailed list of publications, research projects, academic visits, conference presentations and courses.
• confirmation of the required PhD student status at the Polish university or scientific institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences;
• confirmation of the required student status of a full-time first or second-cycle degree programme or uniform Master’s studies at a university in Poland
