Scholarships Officer

  • Remuneration: $111,341 to $120,557 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $94,084 to $101,872 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)
  • Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. In support of our strategic priority of Indigenous Australian success, Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people who are not QUT staff are also eligible and encouraged to apply. Please note that current staff wishing to be considered for secondment to this position must seek prior approval from their supervisor before submitting an application.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Scholarships Officer to join Office of the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Business and Law.

This position is responsible for coordinating and administering the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) coursework scholarships and prizes portfolio, supporting equitable access, student success and positive stakeholder engagement across the Faculty. The role supports a diverse range of scholarships and prizes, including equity, merit, Indigenous, discipline-specific and postgraduate coursework awards, and contributes to associated student engagement, reporting, compliance and stakeholder liaison activities. The Scholarships Officer works collaboratively with Faculty schools, central University teams, and external partners to ensure effective delivery of scholarship programs and a high-quality student and sponsor experience. This position reports to the Engagement and Events Manager for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree in conjunction with subsequent relevant engagement experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience in client services with a focus on innovation and service excellence, including the areas of student liaison and pastoral care and support.
  3. Demonstrated well-developed problem-solving skills and competency in prioritising competing tasks to ensure deadlines are effectively met.
  4. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement using well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills to engage and communicate effectively to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Well-developed computer literacy skills and demonstrated proficiency across several Microsoft Office Suites of programs and functions including Reporting, Excel, database applications, and record keeping functions.
  6. Sound knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles with a demonstrated ability to implement such principles at an operational level.
