and supersymmetry. Besides becoming standard language in physics, supermanifolds present an fascinating area of study themselves. There are many attractive directions, in particular those connected with integration theory, super differential forms and super exterior powers. Examples of recent work with open questions remaining include the quest for super cluster algebras and the Stanford-Witten formula for super-Liouville volume.

Eligibility: The standard academic entry requirement for this PhD is an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree (or international equivalent) in a discipline directly relevant to the PhD OR any upper-second class (2:1) honours degree and a Master's degree at merit (or international equivalent) in a discipline directly relevant to the PhD. Previous research experience / a strong background in algebra and differential geometry is desirable.

Funding Notes
Funding covers tuition fees, an annual stipend at the UKRI minimum rate (currently £21,805 per year), and a research training support grant of up to £2,500 per year for the full 3.5-year programme.
