As part of Warsash Maritime School, Solent University, Merchant Vessel Operations offer education, training, research, and consultancy services to the international maritime industry across a variety of academic and professional disciplines.

Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer to support the development and delivery of the Merchant Vessel Operations courses which are aimed at merchant navy officers, and professional yachtsmen studying for MCA professional certificates at OOW and MCM levels, and BSc(Hons) Top Up awards.

A professional seafarer background with relevant professional STCW certificate along with a Master's degree in relevant field is essential for this role.

You will have professional qualification to Master or Chief Mate level or equivalent, as well as teaching skills, and preferably hold a recognised teaching qualification. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for students' learning are essential. Some unsocial hours and UK/international travel may occasionally be required.
